Kanata Plaza

THE ASK

Montour-Huff Holdings is a family-operated company with several businesses located across a large shared property on Six Nations of the Grand River.

Historically, much of the company’s growth had been concentrated in fuel, tobacco, and alcohol-related businesses. As the family began planning for a more diversified portfolio, the existing brand structure no longer reflected where the business was headed.

Atelier Oluwatosin was engaged to clarify the relationship between the company’s different ventures, establish a stronger umbrella position for the property, and create the digital and communications foundation needed to support future growth.

THE RESPONSE

We developed Kanata Plaza as the customer-facing umbrella for the family’s collection of businesses, giving the property a clearer identity while allowing each operating brand to retain its own name and character. The strategy reframed the site as a destination rather than a collection of unrelated businesses. This created a more coherent structure for existing offerings while establishing room for expansion into new categories over time.

We translated the positioning into a new website that organized the individual businesses into a single shared digital ecosystem. The experience gave customers a clearer understanding of what was available across the property, while creating a flexible framework for future businesses, amenities, events, and services.

We also developed a social media strategy for Kanata Plaza, defining how the umbrella brand could communicate across multiple businesses, support cross-promotion, and build recognition beyond any single revenue category.

Rather than redesigning each individual brand, the engagement focused on the strategic layer connecting them: a stronger name, positioning, digital presence, and communications framework capable of supporting a more diversified company.
