Atera

THE ASK

Design a signage system for Atera, a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Tribeca, New York. Create an understated yet refined system that complements the restaurant’s exclusive dining experience and aligns with its reputation for innovation, elegance, and meticulous attention to detail.

THE RESPONSE

Our design process began with a deep exploration of materials and typography to reflect Atera’s minimalist and elevated aesthetic. Inspired by the restaurant’s reputation for innovation and meticulous attention to detail, we crafted a signage system that was both functional and elegant. We prioritized using warm metals and natural textures, ensuring the materiality aligned seamlessly with Atera’s intimate and refined interior. The serif typography was selected for its clean, modern lines, balancing timelessness and forward-thinking design.

Placement played a critical role in the project. Signage was positioned in intuitive, unobtrusive locations to guide guests effortlessly through the space, enhancing the overall dining experience without drawing attention away from the culinary artistry. This approach resulted in a cohesive and understated signage system that felt like a natural extension of Atera’s brand, embodying its ethos of innovation and elegance while elevating the guest journey.
