Tishman Speyer

THE ASK

Design and supervise the installation of a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system for Tishman Speyer’s newly renovated New York headquarters at New York City's iconic Rockefeller Center. The client sought a signage program that would quietly reinforce brand prestige, support intuitive navigation, and harmonize with a workplace design that merges contemporary minimalism with expressive cultural moments.

THE RESPONSE

We developed a layered signage system that integrates seamlessly into the visual rhythm of Tishman Speyer’s new headquarters, located just off Fifth Avenue. The concept translated the firm’s sophisticated, future-facing ethos into physical form, ranging from the reception’s cut-metal identity to subtle vinyl gestures embedded within glass and millwork.

The material palette was refined and restrained: nickel finishes, white pearlescent paint, and delicately dimensional lettering echoed the elegance of the interiors without overpowering them. We established clear typologies for room identification, collaboration zones, and public interfaces—balancing permanence with modularity.

Every sign was designed to belong to its environment, merging fluidly into wood walls, frosted glass, and plaster finishes while maintaining legibility and ADA compliance. Even technical elements—QR-coded room tags, egress diagrams—were treated with intention, contributing to a user experience that feels quietly intelligent and culturally attuned.

In a project this subtle, the margin for error was razor-thin. We provided hands-on oversight throughout fabrication and install, ensuring every pixel, panel, and pantone translated precisely — crafting an atmosphere that feels as considered as it is calm.
